Goulburn Valley Water is undertaking early planning to explore options for the future of its Corporate Office in Shepparton.
Why this planning is underway
GVW’s current Corporate Office on Fryers Street has supported the organisation for many years, however the building no longer meets current and future needs.
The office has outgrown its existing space, and the building is more than 40 years old. Constructed in 1984-85, with significant modifications made in 1993 and 1998, the site now presents a range of condition-related issues, including substantial leaks during rainfall.
What is being considered
GVW is starting to explore options for the replacement of its current Corporate Office. This includes considering whether to rebuild on the existing Fryers Street site or to build a new office at its Shepparton Operations Centre.
No firm designs or cost estimates have been developed at this stage. This first phase of work is intended to help determine the location of the future office and provide an initial cost estimate. Design work would follow once these early decisions are made.
If GVW makes any changes at the Fryers Street site, the existing murals will be retained as a feature of any future building.
