Executive Management Team
Our Executive Management Team consists of a Managing Director, General Managers and an Executive Manager who are responsible for Technical Services, Corporate Services, People and Safety, Finance and Asset Development.
Peter Quinn, Managing Director
Peter joined Goulburn Valley Water in 1996 and was appointed to the role of Managing Director in 2008. He has extensive experience in strategic planning, regional infrastructure development, organisational capacity building, risk management and governance. He holds an Executive MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, and has undertaken a Churchill Fellowship project on water resource management.
Peter is a member of the Australian Property Institute, the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Institute of Water Administration, and is Chairman of the SAM Foundation Board.
Danny Hogan, General Manager Corporate Services
Danny joined Goulburn Valley Water in June 2008 as the General Manager - Corporate Services. He has a Bachelor of Business (Local Government) and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has had 31 years’ experience in the local government industry, including eight years as Chief Executive Officer of Murrindindi Shire Council. Danny also has a background in the water industry, being Secretary of the former Broadford Water Trust and Sewerage Authority and managing the former Alexandra/Thornton/Eildon/Marysville Water & Sewerage Trusts.
Danny is a Associate memberof the Institute of Water Administration (IWA) and a member of the IWA Governance Special Interest Group.
Sarah Thomson, General Manager Finance and Customer Accounts
Sarah Thomson joined Goulburn Valley Water in February 2017. Sarah brings 20 years of experience in financial and general management including internal and external audit, financial and operational management, governance and risk management in the private and not for profit sectors. Sarah started her career at Deloitte and has worked for Gundjehmi Aboriginal Corporation, World Vision, Burnet Medical Research Institute and most recently WaterAid Australia. Sarah is currently a Board Member of THREE (Towards Human Rights for Everyone Everywhere) Foundation and was previously an Audit Committee member at the Asylum Seekers Resource Centre.
Sarah has a Bachelor of Economics and Asian Studies, a Graduate Diploma in Commerce and is a Chartered Accountant.
Christina Bassani, Executive Manager People and Safety
Christina joined Goulburn Valley Water in 2012 as the Manager People and Wellbeing. She has significant experience in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organisational Development working in various customer based organizations in the public and private sectors. Christina has worked across various industries including water, local government, education, and finance and retail industries. More recently she has facilitated learning and has lectured at the MBA and Diploma levels in management and leadership at University and TAFE locally. Christina is an active member within the local community on a number of different committees and programs.
Christina has a Bachelor of Business; a Master’s in Leadership and Change Management, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is a member of the Institute of Water Administration (IWA) and Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI).
Christina is currently a member of the VIC Water Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee. Christina was the Convener of the IWA Human Resources Special Interest Group from 2014–2016.
