Goulburn Valley Water (GVW), in consultation with the Department of Health, has lifted the Boil Water Advisory for Longwood and Longwood East.

Customers can be assured that the water supplied by Goulburn Valley Water is safe for all drinking, washing and food preparation purposes.

GVW issued a precautionary Boil Water Advisory for Longwood and Longwood East customers on Saturday 10 January and Sunday 11 January, respectively. This followed the Longwood fire, which damaged the Longwood Water Treatment Plant and impacted water supply to customers.

Following verification of water quality testing results, the Boil Water Advisory has now been lifted, in consultation with the Department of Health.

Goulburn Valley Water Managing Director, Dr Steve Capewell, said that staff have worked tirelessly to resolve the issue and to support all affected customers.

“We know that the Boil Water Advisory caused by the devastating fires is inconvenient for our customers at Longwood and Longwood East. Our thoughts are with our fire-affected community members at this time.”

Customers are welcome to provide feedback on this Boil Water Advisory by calling 1800 454 500 or emailing mail@gvwater.vic.gov.au

GVW will continue to provide water for all fire-affected people in and around Longwood and Longwood East at the Longwood Recreation Reserve through the water tanker from 8am to 4pm, along with a supply of bottled water, until the Longwood Water Treatment Plant is back online.
