Welcome to Dunyak Moira.
This community space has been designed to help people reconnect with nature, in a reimagined setting that gives new life to an unused space.
Created in partnership between Goulburn Valley Water and the Burnanga Indigenous Fishing Club, Dunyak Moira (meaning fishing lake in Yorta Yorta language) is a new space for people to access water-related recreational activities in Merrigum.
Dunyak Moira is catch and release fishing only - fines will apply for taking fish.
Opening hours:
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, plus some public holidays
Dawn to dusk
We'll assess and update hours regularly based on available daylight - please check back here regularly for times. Community volunteers are helping us with opening and closing so times may vary slightly - please be patient if the gates aren't open when you arrive.

Dunyak Moira has been established to celebrate our wonderful native fisheries and appreciate the rich indigenous culture that has sustained them for many thousands of years. To ensure this remains a high quality fishery for future generations, we have set a 'catch and release’ policy, which is a condition of entry.
Fishing at Dunyak Moira is free, but we highly encourage users to have a recreational fishing licence. To find out more, visit the Victorian Fisheries Authority's website.
You can find Dunyak Moira at 104-108 Morrissey Street, Merrigum - turn into the side street near the water towers.
