Old Numurkah Water Treatment Plant Decommissioning

15 May 2018

With the new Numurkah Water Treatment Plant on O’Kanes Rd completed in 2015 now supplying the town, Goulburn Valley Water will commence demolition of the old water treatment plant on Gray St, Numurkah. As an integral part of the distribution network, the control room, large clear water storage tank and pump station will remain in place with old flocculation tanks, chemical storage areas, tanks, lime silo and filters removed. Heritage assets on the southern (creek) side of Gray St will remain, including the brick tower.

Demolition works will commence at the end of May and continue for 10 weeks, weather depending. Work will take place between 7.30am and 5pm. It is expected that there will be noise and dust as a result of the works; contractors will do all they can to minimise this. Goulburn Valley Water apologies for the inconvenience this will cause.

Assets to be demolished (red crosses) and to remain (green ticks)
