Seymour recycled water release
08 August 2017
Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) is expecting to release recycled water, treated wastewater, from its Seymour Wastewater Management Facility into Back Creek over the coming weeks.
The Corporation's Wastewater and Recycling Coordinator, Stuart Harris said “the treatment facility has reached capacity due to higher than usual rainfall during the summer months, reducing irrigation opportunities during this critical period.”
“The recycled water being released has been fully treated and meets Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Class C standards,” Mr Harris said.
GVW's EPA licence allows for periodic releases of recycled water in high rainfall events.
