Treated wastewater from the Goulburn Valley Water's (GVW) Seymour Wastewater Management Facility (WMF) will be released into Back Creek, a tributary of the Goulburn River, as approved by the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) wet weather release approval process.

GVW’s Wastewater and Recycling Coordinator Stuart Harris said GVW will periodically release water into Back Creek over the coming months.

“The release of recycled water is due to higher than usual rainfall triggering a wet weather release under EPA licence conditions,” Mr Harris said.

The water being released has been fully treated and meets Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Class C standards.
