National Water Week is celebrated during October in each State and Territory across Australia.Â
Goulburn Valley Water, in partnership with other local water and natural resource management authorities, organise free events, competitions and activities for school students and members of the community. The week's celebrations help to raise awareness of the need to value and conserve water as a precious resource that brings life and prosperity to our region.

Camel in the Catchment
![]() Camels can manage their water really well, but how do we measure up? To highlight National Water Week in the Goulburn Broken Catchment, Matilda the camel treked from the top of the catchment, Lake Eildon, to the bottom, the Murray River.   Matilda visited local primary schools along the way to promote the message 'Healthy Catcments, Healthey Communities'. Click Here to find out more about the camel trek. |

Water Week 'Message on a Bottle' Competition
The major Water Week competition for primary school students was the 'Message on a Bottle' competition. Approximately 3500 students decorated drink bottles with the theme 'Water is Precious Because...'Click Here to see the winning entries. |
