Fees and Charges

Trade waste charges are determined by the Essential Services Commission (ESC). They are based on the volume and quality of trade waste discharged to the sewer and are determined according to the following categories:

Commercial Trade Waste
Charges are included in your water and sewage account and consist of:

  • Application fee (where applicable)
  • Annual monitoring and inspection charge (administration fee)

Industrial Trade Waste
Charges are usually levied on a monthly basis and consist of:

  • Volumetric charge (kL)
  • Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD)
  • Total Nitrogen (TKN)
  • Total Phosphorus
  • Sodium

New Customer Contribution Framework
New Customer Contributions (NCCs) are an upfront payment levied by us when a customer builds, develops or extends a property or business where connections to our water and/or sewerage systems are required to be installed or altered.

NCC rates are updated on July 1 each year can be found in our Tariff Schedule.

Existing serviced properties are generally deemed to have already contributed NCC charges for one Residential Equivalent Tenement (RET), unless specific information on that property indicates otherwise. Refunds are not payable by us where a development reduces the RET on a property.

In instances where standard NCC charges do not apply, the charge will be negotiated. These Non Standard NCCs will be applied in accordance with our Negotiating Framework.
