Tatura Boil Water Notice - UPDATE
01 June 2017
Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) customers in Tatura are advised that the Boil Water Notice currently in place is expected to be lifted by late Friday morning.
On Wednesday morning, bacteria was detected in the reticulation system at Tatura following routine sampling by GVW. Since this time residents have been advised to boil water prior to drinking or use in food preparation.
Bottled water has been available for customers from the Ballantyne Centre in Hastie Street. This will continue to be supplied until the source of contamination is identified.
GVW General Manager Technical Services, Mr Steve McKenzie, said that investigations into the cause are continuing.
"Two series of samples have not identified any potential source of contamination. It appears that the alert may have been a false alarm,” Mr McKenzie said.
Customers are asked to continue to boil their drinking and cooking water until advised that the Boil Water Notice has been lifted.
A further update will be provided on Friday morning.
