Detecting Leaks
Nobody likes to waste water. To determine if you have any leaks simply read your meter and then ensure no water is used over a reasonable period of time, such as overnight. Make sure that all taps within the property, both inside the house and in the garden are turned off, and that all water appliances, including dishwashers, washing machines and toilets are NOT being used. Re-read your meter again in the morning, hopefully you will have no leaks and the reading will be exactly the same.
If there is a leak the number will have changed and by subtracting your first reading from the second you will be able to determine the extent of the leak.
If a leak is detected you will need to contact a licensed plumber as soon as possible to locate and repair it.
