Euroa and Violet Town Move to Stage 2 Water Restrictions 23 April 2009 Effective Monday 27 April 2009 water restrictions for Euroa and Violet Town will be increased to Stage 2 and will continue on this level until further notice. Goulburn Valley Water’s Managing Director Mr Peter Quinn said that the water restrictions are necessary due to the continued dry and hot period. “The weather conditions have maintained water consumption levels at unseasonably high levels, and levels are reducing in the water storages that supply Euroa and Violet Town.” “The water storages that supply Euroa and Violet Town are currently holding 250 megalitres,” said Mr Quinn. “We have not been able to divert water from Seven Creeks since before Christmas because the flow rate has been below the level set out in our bulk entitlement.” Mr Quinn said that water restrictions are necessary to conserve the available water resources. “Initially Stage 2 water restrictions are being introduced. However, more severe water restrictions are likely if the dry conditions continue.” RESIDENTIAL and COMMERCIAL GARDENS and LAWNS
Alternate days means that properties with an odd street number may operate a watering system between the set hours on odd numbered days of the month and properties with even numbers or no number on even numbered days of the month. All properties can water on the 31st day of the month.
