New Water Treatment Plant Underway

Goulburn Valley Water recently awarded the contract for the design and construction of the new water treatment plant at Bonnie Doon to Simpson Construction from Melbourne.

Goulburn Valley Water’s General Manager Technical Services, Mr Allen Gale said the new $3.6 million water treatment plant will significantly improve the quality of the water delivered to their customers.

“We will be constructing a 1.5 megalitre (1,500,000 litres) per day water filtration plant and an additional 0.5 megalitre treated water storage.  The construction phase of the project will commence in March and it is anticipated to be completed by January 2010.”

“The new water treatment plant and storage will not only improve water quality for our customers it will also increase the security of the water supply for Bonnie Doon.”

This project is part of Goulburn Valley Water commitment to providing good quality water to small towns.
