Internal Appointment for GVW's New General Manager

Goulburn Valley Water is pleased to announce the appointment of Bruce Hammond as its new General Manager-Technical Services.

Goulburn Valley Water’s Managing Director Mr Peter Quinn said that he is thrilled that the Corporation has been able to appoint an internal candidate to this vital role for Goulburn Valley Water and the region.  “Bruce has been with the Corporation since 1996 and for the last eight years has held the position of Manager Planning and Project Development.”

“Bruce has over 25 years experience in the Victorian water industry, in various roles with rural/irrigation, metropolitan and regional water corporations,” said Mr Quinn. “He is well qualified for this important role holding a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, a Masters of Business Administration and being a graduate of the Fairley Leadership Program.”

“Bruce has played a leading role in many of Goulburn Valley Water’s key strategies and initiatives including the Operations Review, our Water Plans, our water supply demand strategy, the EPA Corporate Licence and the Corporate Community Reference Committee,” said Mr Quinn.  “He has a great strength of technical knowledge of our assets and treatment processes, is well known and respected with established networks across the industry, and has the capacity to help deliver on our vision to be a leader in sustainable water management in this region and the Victorian water sector.”

Mr Hammond said that Goulburn Valley Water has a committed team of employees, dedicated to customer service.  “I’m looking forward to being a part of a great team to ensure the Corporation is well prepared to meet the challenges facing the region. “

“With a background in direct operational management I have a keen interest and commitment to the delivery of excellent customer services and will be working to maintain and improve Goulburn Valley Water’s service performance over the long term,” said Mr Hammond.

Mr Quinn said that Bruce will assume the role of General Manager Technical Services on Monday 10 August 2009.
