Boiled Water Notice Lifted for Buxton 18 February 2009 Goulburn Valley Water has lifted the boiled water notice for the Buxton water supply system. This means that the water can now be consumed without boiling first. Managing Director for Goulburn Valley Water Mr Peter Quinn said that Corporation staff were able to restore the water supply Buxton early last week and the disinfection system for the supply was restored on Friday. Testing undertaken early this week has confirmed that the water is again safe to drink. "Although the Steavenson River catchment area has been devastated our water supply reservoir has not been impacted," said Mr Quinn. "The supply in the reservoir will last for several weeks, which means that we do not need to divert water from the Steavenson River if water quality is poor."
