Recycled Water One Step Closer for Marysville Golf Course 10 April 2008 The new 55 megalitre recycled water storage at Goulburn Valley Water’s facility at Marysville has recently been completed and by spring the Golf Club will be using the recycled water to irrigate its fairways and greens. Goulburn Valley Water’s Managing Director, Mr Laurie Gleeson said that the recycled water pipeline to the golf course and the Corporation’s irrigation property out on the Marysville-Buxton Road has been installed and requires some minor remedial works. “Once the remedial work has been completed then the recycled water will be available for irrigating the golf course. However, it will still be some weeks off and it is unlikely that the golf course will be using the recycled water until spring.” “At our existing facility we still need to install a pump, tank and associated equipment to complete the project which will take approximately two months,” said Mr Gleeson. “Development works on our new property includes the installation of fixed sprinklers and we anticipate that this work will start in April and take approximately three months to complete.” Mr Gleeson said that the Corporation appreciates and thanks the local residents and the community for their assistance and understanding throughout the construction phase of the project. “This project shows what can be achieved when the community and the Corporation work together for the benefit of all parties and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Community Reference Committee for their work over the past four years.
