Water Restrictions Eased for Unregulated Systems

5 September 2007

Goulburn Valley Water has announced that water restrictions for towns supplied from unregulated systems including Buxton, Euroa, Longwood, Mansfield, Marysville, Merrijig, Pyalong, Sawmill Settlement, Thornton, Violet Town, Woods Point & Yea will be eased from Stage 3 to Stage 2 effective Friday 7 September 2007.

Goulburn Valley Water’s Managing Director, Mr Laurie Gleeson said that the reduction in water restrictions has been possible because of improved winter rainfall and increases in streamflows and storage capacity.

“However, towns supplied from the Sunday Creek system, being Broadford, Waterford Park (Clonbinane), Kilmore and Wandong-Heathcote Junction will remain on Stage 4 water restrictions,” said Mr Gleeson.

“Stage 2 water restrictions allow gardens to be watered on alternate days for specified hours, however, lawn watering is not permitted.”

“We would like to thank our customers for their understanding and compliance with the water restrictions during this difficult period, and continue to urge residents to conserve water wherever possible.”

Please see our Water Restrictions page for full details or contact our 24 hour Customer Service Centre on free call 1800 45 45 00.
