Boiling Water No Longer Required for Eildon Township

30 July 2007

Goulburn Valley Water, in consultation with the Department of Human Services is pleased to announce that the boil water notice for the Eildon Township has been lifted effective Monday 30 July 2007.

Goulburn Valley Water’s Managing Director Mr Laurie Gleeson said that the temporary treatment process the Corporation put in place has improved the quality of the water.  “Over the past week and half we have undertaken tests on the water quality and the results have confirmed that the town water supply is safe for drinking, food preparation and the making of ice.”

Mr Gleeson said that the temporary treatment plant may have to operate for several months, until the water Eildon reservoir cleans up. “I would like to acknowledge the great efforts of our staff for getting the system operating and while it’s operating they will need to closely monitor and maintain the system.”

“Goulburn Valley Water would like to thank all its customers for their co-operation and understanding during the period that the boil water notice was in place,” said Mr Gleeson. “Please communicate this information on to others in your household and community.”
