Water and the Environment

Integrate planning and implementation of regional development with water
cycle management to achieve effective stewardship of water whilst also
fulfilling essential environmental water requirements.

Deliver quality drinking water which complies with Australian Drinking Water
Guidelines and DHS requirements.

Manage wastewater in a sustainable manner and maximise reuse of reclaimed
water and biosolids throughout the Goulburn Valley Region.

Constitution of the Corporation
Goulburn Valley Region Water Corporation
(trading as Goulburn Valley Water) is a body corporate with perpetual
succession under powers conferred by the
Water Act 1989, as amended by
the Water (Governance) Act
2006.
Relationship with Government
The
Corporation's Water Services Agreement (WSA) is the key accountability mechanism
between Goulburn Valley Water and the Minister.
The purpose of the WSA’s
is twofold. Firstly, to formalise the Authority’s obligations for the
provision of water related services to our customers. Secondly, by specifying
service obligations, the WSA will provide greater accountability to Government
in terms of the level and standard of service provision and improved business
efficiencies.
Goulburn Valley Water reports
quarterly to the Government on performance against targets set in this
Agreement.
