Water Restrictions - What do they mean to you?
 

Stage 1 Water Restrictions - Broadford, Clonbinane, Kilmore and Wandong-Heathcote Junction systems:-

From midnight on Thursday 2 June 2005, Stage 1 water restrictions have been put in places for the towns of Broadford, Clonbinane, Kilmore and Wandong-Heathcote Junction.  These water restrictions replaces the Water Conservation by-law. Customers must now comply with the following requirements:-  

1.    Private Gardens (excluding grass or lawn within a Private Garden) must not be watered except by means of:-

(a)   microspray and drip systems which operate only between 7.00 pm (on alternate days) and 8.00 am (the following day); or

(b)   sprinklers which operate only between 6.00am and 9.00am (on alternate days) and between 6.00pm and 9.00pm (on alternate days).

2.    Grass or lawn areas of a Private Garden must not be watered except by means of a sprinkler, microspray or drip system which operates only between 6.00am and 9.00am (on alternate days) and between 6.00pm and 9.00pm (on alternate days).

3.    Private Gardens may be watered using a hand held hose with a trigger device, watering can or bucket, at any time.

* Alternate days means – properties with odd numbers can water on odd numbered days and properties with even numbers can water on even days.  Properties with no numbers are deemed to be even numbered.  All properties can water on 31st day of the month and 29th Feb.

Modified restrictions also apply to vehicle washing, the topping up of swimming pools and some other water uses.  See all Stage 1 requirements.
